Product & Technical FAQs
VARON POCs draw in ambient air, filter it, and separate oxygen using advanced sieve bed technology. The device delivers concentrated oxygen (93% ±3%) through pulse or continuous flow modes. Battery-powered models operate independently from wall outlets for hours.
- Pulse Flow: Oxygen is released only when you inhale. More efficient, extends battery life. Ideal for active users and daytime use.
- Continuous Flow: Constant oxygen output regardless of breathing. Recommended for high-flow needs, nocturnal use, or as prescribed.
Decision Guide: For sleep therapy or higher liter flow (e.g., >3L/min), a continuous-flow home unit is preferred. Consult your physician for a definitive recommendation.
All VARON medical-grade concentrators deliver93% ± 3%oxygen concentration at nominal flow settings. This is verified through internal sensors and quality control, meeting international medical device standards.
Noise levels vary by model, but all are designed for quiet operation:
- VL-02: <45 dB
- VP-01: <58 dB
- VP-8G: ≤40 dB (whisper-quiet)
For reference, normal conversation is around 60 dB.
Some VARON models include a built-in nebuliser that converts liquid medication into fine mist particles for direct inhalation into the respiratory tract. This method is effective with minimal side effects and is commonly used for asthma or COPD treatments.
Operation & Safety
- NO smoking or open flames within 2 metres of the unit.
- Keep vents unobstructed – place at least 10cm away from walls/curtains.
- Use only approved accessories (tubing, adapters, batteries).
- Monitor pulse oximetry if using for chronic conditions.
- Do not operate in damp environments (e.g., bathrooms, rain).
